Job Description
As part of the Global Communication and Marketing (GCM) Reputation Management team at Micron, you will be responsible for leading the global PR function at Micron.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
:Define company's corporate, global PR strategy and plan: determine goals, direction, scope and deliverables in alignment with corporate, BU and GCM priorities. The PR strategy and plan should support three key areas:
:Corporate level activities, such as earnings, executive outreach, key industry and Micron events, crisis response, executive, company and organizational announcements, etc.
:BU marketing activities, such as product announcements, tradeshows, segment PR, partnership PR, etc.
:Global activities, such as government dignitaries' visits, Micron leadership visits, fab expansions, site:specific activities, Foundation and local events, etc.
:Drive strategic approach to PR discipline. Manage small team, agency and contractors with a view to optimize resources to best execute on above plan.
:Oversee PR agencies and staff in regions worldwide.
:Build trust and close partnership with key executives, BU and global stakeholders, as well as GCM organization.
:Partner with IR, government affairs and other internal stakeholders to develop PR plans in support of key corporate communications (Earnings, crisis communications, etc.)
:Act as spokesperson on behalf of Micron. Coach executive spokespeople and drive media training as required.
:Build relationships with key target media globally. Manage target list and drive ongoing outreach to shift Micron's perception in support of Micron' brand strategy and aligned with Micron's corporate narratives.
:Manage monitoring tools, track metrics and report out on progress against goals on a quarterly basis.
:Manage global PR budget and optimize ROI across all activities.
:Semiconductor, IT and/or technology acumen and background
:Strong media relations: ability to develop and nurture strong network and relationships with key target reporters to increase positive media coverage for Micron and shift media perception. Target media include business, technical and industry trade press, bloggers, senior editors and journalists at major broadcast, print, wire services and online outlets
:Confident and experienced spokesperson with the ability to speak at a strategic level, while also able to go deep into technical topics.
:Demonstrated success in the development and execution of corporate level, BU and global PR strategies.
:Strong executive presence. Proven ability to influence professionals and senior leaders and to navigate complex and political landscapes.
:A proven ability to partner with global stakeholders and other functions in a highly matrixed organization.
:Ability to think beyond the PR function as a communication professional.
:Self:starter with ability to think strategically and deploy tactically, able to "connect the dots" across the business.
:Strong desire to drive improvement, not settle for status quo.
:Excellent written and verbal business communication skills.
:Steadfastly pushes self and others for results.
:Ability to work well under pressure in a fast:paced environment.
:15 years of experience in global corporate communication, corporate and technology PR or related marketing functions; preferably in IT or the semiconductor industry and in another Fortune 500 firm.
:Prior experience working with senior executives on communication strategy
MBA, Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in journalism, public relations or communication.
